What inspired you to take up music?
I got a couple a lug nut brothers who were already takin’ lessons and playin’ music. I wanted in on the action, so I asked for a Sit-Down with The Boss and the Underboss. That’s my parents for you empty suits out there. Da Family used to hang out at a little juke joint back then called “Shakey’s Pizza” and there was dis guy who would show up and tear the place apart wit da Banjo. Yeah .. I said Banjo!!!!

Anyways …. Since I was only 10 years old , I thought dat was pretty hot stuff! The Boss called in a marker and laid out a couple a hundred Fazouls and soon this little wise guy was pickin’ and a grinin’.
How long have you been studying/playing music?
The Banjo gig worked out fine for awhile until I started to wise up and realize the dames was actually gettin’ all dolled up for dem GUITAR players!!! I mean who can blame ‘em? “Yes Sir, that’s My Baby” and “Oh Suzanna” aren’t gonna get a 19 year old college freshman any chicks in the 80’s.

So … I decided to trade the Banjo for a Guitar. I had another Sit-Down with the Boss and the rest is history. The Boss sent the Underboss down to the local pawn shop and made the owner an offer he couldn’t refuse!!!! What was the question again??? Oh … I would say about 30 years of my life has been devoted to one instrument or another. Next question!!!
How long have you been performing live shows?
I popped my Live Musical Cherry in 1989. I like to think that’s why the Berlin Wall fell!!!

What previous local bands have you played in?
If you must know, my first “job” was wit a band called AKDOV. (Dat’s VODKA spelled backwards for you people who ain’t dyslexic.) Then I performed in the following local bands: Mistress, Junior’s Wailin’, Spot, Warning, The Employees, Mad Hatter, and a world shakin’ group of misfits called …. The Creeps!!!
Who are your musical influences?
This is the answer dat could ramble forever….. But we only got so much space on this site. The short answer would be: David Gilmour from Pink Floyd, Alex Lifeson of Rush fame, Carlos Santana, Jimmy Page from a little ol’ band called Led Zeppelin and Angus Young from AC/DC. Dis any one a deez guys and your gonna find out why I’m called “The Enforcer.”
Who is your favorite band?
The Beatles are and have always been the best Rock Band in the World. If you’ve got a problem with dat I’m gonna send The Mechanic to your house. Why? Because he FIXES THINGS!!!! Dat’s

What instruments do you play in…The Syndicate?
I’ve got a couple of Strat’s… a couple of Tele’s … and a couple of Warwick Basses. I’ll play whatever instrument needs to be played in The Syndicate. Hell, I’ll even play Drums!!!! Wait a minute ….. I suck at Drums!!! What was the question??? Oh …. I play Guitar and Bass.
What instrument would you like to play?
I would like to learn how to play the Piano. Maybe da Boss will give me some lessons as soon as he figures out what the hell’s going on himself!!! |
